Post by bluelabrador16 » Tue Sep 11, 2018 5:35 pm

This year we are hosting the event at Trawden Recreation Ground from 13th to 15th September. We're Back - Bigger and Better!

The Rotary Club of Colne Noyna, in association with the Trawden Arms and Trawden Forest Community Centre, brings you a weekend of brilliant beer, fantastic food and magnificent music from well-established and up-and-coming local artists.

You can buy tickets and tokens for the festival in advance through Eventbrite and gain fast-track entry when you arrive. Tickets will also be available from the Trawden Arms on the lead up to the festival.

All profits from the festival will go to local charities Pendleside Hospice, Rosemere Cancer Foundation, Petal and Derian House. So join us again for a really great weekend of beer and bands while supporting your local community.

Is it being hosted at the recreation ground due to some complaints from residents about last years noise and going on too late ?

No, it was just that there was too many people attending. The road between the two venues, Community centre and the Trawden Arms, didn't help. I believe on health and safety grounds it was wise to move.

Blue Lab is used to folk begging to differ. Not quite so used to them accepting his version of events though.

It has been a victim of its own success at the previous venue. Noise is the reason for the move. ( something to do with a ' traffic light ' noise limit ?) Ask Pendle Council. But the new set up on the Rec looks really good
Hope for good weather.

Think it's a bit of both. Apparently one person complained (and has since moved, ironically). They could have expanded into the library this year but that would mean trying to control numbers in 3 venues (marquee, community center and library) and as someone stated above there were way more people there on the main nights last year than the licence allowed. Fortunately there was no trouble but it's a(nother) risk.

I'm not convinced by the move to the Rec but hopefully I'll be proved wrong and it will be a success. If the Trawden Arms has stuff going on and the bus works out, it will be a good weekend. I'll be there all three nights.

One bad thing about upgrading the event (other than the price increase) is that the licence doesn't allow glass glasses, so it will be those hard acrylic things.

The list of beers is up too for those of you more interested in the beer element of the weekend than the music......

And star act...
2100 - Professor 'Golders' Green

EDIT: News just in of another tribute band canx from Saturday's line up -

You won't need wellies but seeing as it's up Trawden Rec you'd better dress for arctic conditions!

Looks like that bloke who is supping on his own has cleared the place. I wonder what he was drinking? Don't do this at home folks - unless you want a divorce.
