Whose shopping?
Last night's deadline does not signal the end of the transfer activity in England. The Enclosure wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 6:51 amFeel more at home on this thread, the big boys thread was too rich for little old Burnley.
Are we still allowed to shop in the Scottish leagues or is it just the championship and league1?
Shame as he would have been ideal for us.
Very disappointing.
I suspect that with Dawson going to West Ham it signals the end of any realistic transfer business on our part until January at least.
Would have been a great signing...
Gut feel, given CT’s comments, is there has been a complete breakdown of relationship between Sean and the Chairman, so he has no interest in signing the players he wants.

That or he’s given up on the club because that’s what his actions feel like at the moment.
Wouldn’t mind that so much if he bothered to sign some younger players, but he hasn’t!boatshed bill wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 7:41 pmOr the chairman doesn't want the club ending like some "last chance saloon" for senior PL players?
We don't really know who (or what) is the stumbling block here.
Half of our squad are over 30boatshed bill wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 7:41 pmOr the chairman doesn't want the club ending like some "last chance saloon" for senior PL players?
Yes, and it had to stop.
And that marks the official end of our transfer window. I didn't realise he was only 30.burnleymik wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 8:04 pmhttps://www.whufc.com/news/articles/202 ... aig-dawson
West Ham get Dawson.
I wondered why we'd only signed one first team squad player.Even though he's 31
Yes, i know. Another stop-gap signing. how long is his contract?randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 9:03 pmI wondered why we'd only signed one first team squad player.Even though he's 31
Would you like to clarify exactly what you mean please?NewClaret wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 7:34 pmGut feel, given CT’s comments, is there has been a complete breakdown of relationship between Sean and the Chairman, so he has no interest in signing the players he wants.

Strange thing to say.
Suppose it depends if you believe the success is down to Mr Dyche or MG.TVC15 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 10:00 pmStrange thing to say.
Plenty on here have been questioning MG and the board in the last few weeks.
And plenty defending MG and the board.
Maybe those defending him are basing it on the longest period of success for the club for half a century ?
Whichever side of the fence you sit none of us are party to evidence as to our current financial restraints or what maybe happening with any potential takeover....none of us our happy with the lack of transfers but some of the stuff posted on here about MG and the board in the last few weeks is laughable
Can’t believe that anyone would think it’s all down to SD and that the board have contributed nothing in 8 years - which is the kind of thing some have been posting.MACCA wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 10:06 pmSuppose it depends if you believe the success is down to Mr Dyche or MG.
I doubt another manager could have done what he did first season with the bunch of misfits and free transfers having lost Austin right as the window closed.
Dont know how anyone can say our success isn't 90% down to Dyche, but suppose it's all about opinions.opinions.
It's all getting a bit meh now
MG has given SD the opportunity.TVC15 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 10:12 pmCan’t believe that anyone would think it’s all down to SD and that the board have contributed nothing in 8 years - which is the kind of thing some have been posting.
Of course most of it is down to SD. Not sure there are many fans who think differently to that.
Have you seen anyone saying it’s mostly down to MG and the board ?
Naughty - haha !boatshed bill wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 10:16 pmMG has given SD the opportunity.
It's all been going really well until quite recently.
However, SD has been really naughty recently in my opinion.
TVC15 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 10:24 pmNaughty - haha !
Not sure us lowly fans will ever really know what has gone on between them. Can’t see a warts and all book like Stan the Man being written by either of them can you ?
It’s not good though and such a shame that through no fault of our own we appear to be in trouble. And it ****-es me off even more when you see those clubs around us who have been wreckless with spend or sacking managers every few months coming out smelling of roses
They've decided due to Covid to wear masks and avoid any shopping whatsoever.agreenwood wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2020 7:33 amI see “shopping in our market” is going as well as shopping in what presumably wasn’t our market.
Maybe we’re just a bit **** at shopping.
Like I said, think it's getting a bit meh now.TVC15 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 10:12 pmCan’t believe that anyone would think it’s all down to SD and that the board have contributed nothing in 8 years - which is the kind of thing some have been posting.

Calm down every TRUE Burnley fan knows we don’t normally do our business until the end of the window.........you wouldn’t want us to risk going bust for the sake of a few days wages would you? In any event the next window opens in January, we can make do until then, you know Kevin Long has never let us down.agreenwood wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2020 7:33 amI see “shopping in our market” is going as well as shopping in what presumably wasn’t our market.
