Alan Pace Talks to Jordan North
Starting a thread ahead of the interview which will be on Football Focus tomorrow at midday.
The club and AP Sports have already released a few snippets of what he had to say and for starters it includes some scything verdicts on player's agents. This is only after a couple of weeks in the UK too.

Scything verdicts on players agents....
Yep. That’s helpful...
Some things are best left unsaid.

Re: Alan Pace Talks to Jordan North
I'm wondering if Alan Pace understood when Jordan North said: "I'm well chuffed with that."

To be fair, some have the chip on the left shoulder, some on the right. Making our moaning very balanced!!

Tbh......Fickle is more appropriate for football fans more than chip on the shoulder. Though I would agree a few posters on here do have a "chip" on their shoulders regards non footballing matters.imo.RammyClaret61 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 12:09 amTo be fair, some have the chip on the left shoulder, some on the right. He was Chairman of Salt Lake City so he will have plenty of experience with Agents demands.Rowls wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 11:23 pmStarting a thread ahead of the interview which will be on Football Focus tomorrow at midday.

Re: Alan Pace Talks to Jordan North
The thing that impressed me the most was that he,as an American, could pronounce Leicester correctly

His hope of getting respect for being hard working is less realistic than the ambition to do a Leicester and win the league.
Re: Alan Pace Talks to Jordan North
Not all agents are bad obviously, but if our chairman leads the way in calling out the parasite agents, even if that’s to the detriment of potential signings, il be happy with that.

Re: Alan Pace Talks to Jordan North
Basically what Pace is saying is what Dyche has already created at this club, under the watch of the previous board.
This will disappear rapidly if we lose Dyche , so it’s good news that they rightly value him highly.
But what all Burnley fans want to know is he finally going to get some meaningful support in the transfer market. If he doesn’t in this window, I suggest AP tones down all this pontification about values and vision until , the fans actually start to see his words in action. In the meantime we can get it on with supporting Dyche and the team , which AP is reflecting in the glory of at the moment.

Good to hear someone come out and say how there are agents who're bad for the game but can't be gotten rid of.

Re: Alan Pace Talks to Jordan North
This brings attention on to agents via the media, and will possibly see a few journos digging deeper into their actions - some, and not all of these people, are a drain on the game, financially bullying clubs in some ways, and touting players around behind their backs as if they own them. Their is absolutely no loyalty around with people like this involved, we all know money plays a big part but these people need outing in my opinion

The main problem is how you define good, bad or ugly and moreso how you police it tbh.
A lot of agents are essentially salesmen and a very large percentage of those tell porkies. Therefore, how can you police whether the players know exactly what their agents have said. How do you know that the players don’t prefer a less than truthful agent if it gets them a better deal. The issue is that like most things if you want honesty and integrity there are always a percentage of people, in any walk of life, that don’t. There will be a good number of owners of Football clubs that don’t have much integrity too.
Also given I have talked about policing you only have to look at issues within the authorities themselves (such as the Hillsbrough fiasco) to see that there can be very limited integrity within those organisations too.

Re: Alan Pace Talks to Jordan North
Blame Bosman for rise of the agent. Previously clubs owned players and could tout them around, now players own themselves and can rent their services to the highest bidder. The players are in no way qualified to do that job, so they need expertise to do that. Hence the agent is required. Football clubs choose to work with them, pay the agreed fees and have their own teams of lawyers, sporting directors, coaches, AI driven data lakes etc to tip the balance of the equation back in their favour. In all vocations you get good, bad, greedy actors at play so I don’t think just branding all agents as bad and a scapegoat for clubs actions is helpful.
