Chimney sweep

Post by buzzclarets79 » Mon Mar 15, 2021 2:14 pm

Can anyone recommend a good chimney sweep for the Rossendale area, I’m new to the area, would prefer a local business rather than a big national company and someone that can recommend their work. Thanks in advance.

After watching my chimney (a 'proper' one in a 1930's house) being swept on 2 occasions for about £60, I decided to buy a kit from Amazon for £20 and me and my partner now sweep it once a year and we actually find it quite a satisfying job. There are of course lots of YouTube help videos, and I'd say the hardest bit is preparation, in particular sheeting up really thoroughly.
DIY is probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm pretty tight with cash!
Acorn, as mentioned above were the ones I did have and they were very good - quick, clean and reliable.
In preparation I always have a once a year treat watching this classic instructional video: https://youtu.be/qnkMqhw4oTE?t=125

Never wrestle with a chimney sweep... you can't come out clean.
