Very strange that we celebrated our century season in 1981/82 but the 125th in 2007/08
Re: 125th Anniversary Kit
We celebrated the Millenium in 2000 but should have been 2001 (there was no year 0 )ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 1:17 pmStoke. Coyle’s first game in charge.

Re: 125th Anniversary Kit
I think it depends on the calendar year or the season played. It's lost consistency over the years, but not worth another dig at the club for.

Re: 125th Anniversary Kit
No one was having a dig but I don’t understand your response. Simple fact is we celebrated 100 & 125 some 26 years apart. We held the centenary year correctly in the 100th year while we held the 125th in the season after the anniversary which the club admitted was incorrect.claptrappers_union wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 3:18 pmI think it depends on the calendar year or the season played. Re: 125th Anniversary Kit
i know it's o/t but that's not why the millenium was really in 2001 (there was a year 0).
it's because the 2000th year had to be completed before we could say 2 millenia. the completion of 2000 years is the beginning of 2001.
sorry to be a smart arse.

It was like that in the Army with the 24 hour clock. No such time as 0000. Its was either 2359 or 0001.

Re: 125th Anniversary Kit
well i think the calendar was retroactively applied but no.
think about it. we start at the beginning of the year zero and on new years eve of that year we celebrate an anniversary of one year. so we celebrate 100 years (the century) on new years eve in the year 100. therefore we celebrate the anniversary of the first millenium on new years eve the year 1000 and so on.
and yeah pedantry is wonderful.
and midnight military time is indeed 0000.

Re: 125th Anniversary Kit
I was asking as I was looking to see if there are any pictures of us actually playing in it on the web anywhere. I can’t find any apart from the program from the game with Aki on the front wearing it.

Re: 125th Anniversary Kit
I've got Robbie Blake's match worn shirt from that game somewhere in a shoe box around here. Along with Jay's boots, Andy Gray's shirt and a few others. I think I've got Tony Grant's Yellow and Black shirt from whatever anniversary that was (I think it's a Yellow and Black one anyway)

Wasn’t that when we for some reason decided to celebrate the 120th anniversary in 2002-03dandeclaret wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 6:45 pmI've got Robbie Blake's match worn shirt from that game somewhere in a shoe box around here. Re: 125th Anniversary Kit
I liked the away kit from that season with 125 year badge and gold trim. Still wear it for 5-a-side.
