Trains from London Liverpool Street and therefore Stratford, Chelmsford and Colchester are rail replacement bus from Ipswich...takes ages
Typically Saturday is an uninterrupted service...

Premier Inn accross from the train station is the away friendly pub and Coach and Horses.

Wetherspoons won't let away fans in since both Manchester clubs wrecked them.

We went in a pub by the river called The Angler I think, walking away from the ground as you come out the station

The Compleat Angler is a home pub now. The Coach and Horses is a great pub. They brew their own beer there.

Might be dusting off the motorhome for this one. Any tips on Norfolk campsites with good public transport links to Norwich on the Sunday ?

Cromer or Sheringham I’d say.

Sandringham Estate is nice but an hour away from Norwich. There is a Camping and Caravan club site on the South side of Norwich which is only a 20 min walk to the ground.

Norwich Camping and Caravanning Club Site, Martineau Lane, Norwich, UK

Looking forward to this game. Staying in the Holiday Inn at the ground. Any tips about pubs in general, not just match day ones?

Bump. Driving down early Sunday and staying over in the nearby Travelodge Sunday night. Anyone know if it’s still the case that the Wetherspoons are home fans only?

Any advice on where to park in Norwich? Anyone use the park and ride?

They were when my Mum and Dad went down for Everton. I don't know if it was so strict because it was a big city club. But they enforced it for a couple in their late 60s stating they could lose their licence etc..

Obviously this is just around match time.

A lot of the time this isn't the choice of the pub but conditions of their licence.

There’s match day parking on Lower Clarence Rd near the train station.

The Park and Ride on the A11 junction of the A47 would be the best option for ease of getting away.

Parking at Carrow Road

Post by gandhisflipflop » Thu Apr 07, 2022 8:26 pm

Hi all.

I’m going to be driving down Sunday and was wondering if those who are familiar with the area can recommend a good place to park?

Cheers

There are loads of car parks between the station (including one at the station) and the ground. I've never parked there and I don't know what they charge, but I certainly recall walking past.

I’ve used a big car park on the southern ring road once. Fairly sure it was sign posted. Caveated that it’s been a few years since I drove there.

Just checked on Google. It was the ‘County Hall’.

See the post above yours. Plenty of parking about. County hall, Lower Clarence Rd, Europa Way are all good options. You could even park at my house and get the bus in. :-)

Heads up for those travelling down by car. The protesters closing down fuel terminals, is having a big impact down here in Norfolk. Many of the petrol stations are out fuel; diesel in particular is difficult to find.

Morrison’s near the ground are out of unleaded but had diesel at 6.00 pm tonight.
They are expecting a delivery of unleaded before 11 am tomorrow morning
