RED ARROWS (today 5:30): FAO any clarets near Settle-Steeton-Skipton-Crosshills-Mytholmroyd-Ripponden-Marsden

Post by jdrobbo » Sat Jun 11, 2022 9:56 am

Bit of a sucker for a Red Arrows fly-by and in the past, I’ve tried to put myself in a field somewhere under the flight path, to get a great view. Today, there’s a routine starting in Teeside and coming south through the aforementioned areas.

The image below shows the basic timings and the map link allows you to zoom in to what is usually an extremely accurate flight-path….albeit subject to change.

I would highly recommend finding yourself somewhere to position yourself on the yellow line shown, if you have nothing else to do with your time later this afternoon.

J

Hope it’s helpful to someone.

The one near Long Preston is Swinden according to my map. Worth a ride out on my motorbike me thinks.

The waypoint 5 is just south west of the village about 500 yards from my house on the Wigglesworth road between LP and the River Ribble

I should be in Settle about 5.30pm so will certainly keep an eye out for the fly past.
Cheers JD.

Not today. I’m heading to Sutton. Last time we got the tricolour right above our heads.

Yours was the route to Teeside; the next is the route from Teeside…I think….

We stood on the roadside near Lund Tower. Two sets but no formation stuff. Unbelievably busy.

Albert, I see that you’re N.Yorks but if you’d like to join us West Yorkshire Clarets for a drink and a chat when we’re over this side of the valley, you’d be very welcome!

We’re meeting in Bingley this coming Thursday. If this might be of interest to you, please feel free to drop me an email at wyclarets at gmail dot com. John

Just 5 arrows.
Living in Lincoln I am lucky to get them overhead on many occasions as I am on their flight runs from Waddington to Scampton.

Many times we get 9 arrows and sometimes are lucky to see 3 join the other 6 in an amazing exercise

Hi Dave,

They weren’t in formation unfortunately. We got two sets…a five and a four.

All 9 flew in formation around the airbase in Shawbury before 8 of them landed individually . The 9th flew round again tipping its wings to about 20 of us before landing.
