General Info - Bournemouth (a)

Post by ClaretTony » Wed Oct 18, 2023 8:39 pm

I’ve resurrected these threads so we can keep all the info requested and offered in one place. The links will be in the sticky post.

For any info ahead of game at Bournemouth other than tickets and coach travel.

Away pub is usually the Mello Mello about 15 minutes walk away. Not the most salubrious looking of joints but it serves a purpose.

Pubs and bars in the centre are more than welcoming enough.

We live in Southbourne (about 15 minutes walk to the Bournemouth ground) and would recommend the pubs around here:

My local is the White Bear on Southbourne Grove (high street) - they have a match day special and always have a beer on from a brewery local to the visiting team as well as a food option.

The Way Outback (closer up the Grove towards the ground) is a proper microbrewery - normally more than a dozen beers on - all brewed on the premises!

Brewhouse and Kitchen is a more chain style pub - huge inside - and again a good range of their own beers and some guest beers too - they also do a pub menu.

There is also the Bell - directly opposite Pokesdown station - about a ten minute walk to the ground and away fan friendly - not as nice as the others mentioned above but very convenient!

Interestingly on the way up to the ground there is a nice football memorabilia shop called "In off the far post" as well as a few cafes / bakeries !

There is plenty of street parking in Southbourne

Any questions, just ask!

On the parking, it’s mainly (free)! Street parking - BH6 3SY - is just one such street but won’t take you long to find a spot around there!
