Managers who can’t practice what they Preach
Chris Waddle a brilliant attacking player yet I don’t think we scored in the first 5 games.
Vincent Kompany a brilliant defender yet our defence is like a colander.

It’s almost like playing football is a different skill than coaching it.

What for me has been frustrating from Vinnie are the comments he makes. Like that will be our worst performance: there is still improvement in the team: Ramsey would get into the England team; O Shea could one day play for a top 6 side; we have only played the top sides and judge us in the next 4 or 5 games against opposition similar to us (was not yesterday our worst performance). The talking should be on the pitch
Re: Managers who can’t practice what they Preach
Like a lot of these new young managers about, to much over thinking. Football is a simple game, that very few managers have mastered complicating it. Lots try and copy it by forgetting the basics and they and their teams look clueless doing it.

Not hysterical but I would have thought that VK would be able to set up a team to be able to defend, happen he wasn’t that great a defender but just happen to play for teams who were brilliant going forward.Clovius Boofus wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 11:26 amOh, great. Roeder? As a player, he'd be honoured to be ranked with that lot. Can be replace him with osvaldo ardiles? Totally inept as a manager on a different scale to most of those above.

Gaz Neville
Re: Managers who can’t practice what they Preach
So, we ignore what he achieved last season, in the interests of adding him to a silly list of failed former players?

I’m afraid that it’s only at the top level where success is measured ,Jimmy Mullen,Brian Miller,Owen Coyle ,and Stan the Man were brilliant for us ,but Harry Potts and Sean Dyche are the ones that other teams fans remember,VK has a long way to go to get in that hall of fame.

The one position John Bond struggled to fill at Burnley was right back where he himself had been such a good player.

Our two best cbs are injured so VK has to go with a patched up defence
