It has been mentioned on the fixtures thread but this article outlines when we will know which matches will be televised and which ones not

Re: ARTICLE: When will TV games be announced?
With so many games on TV it will be interesting to see how that affects attendances - I know that not everyone has Sky and those with season tickets will presumably use them. Nothing beats the live game experience but with a near 300 mile round trip and not getting any younger I think my visits to Burnley will definitely be reduced.

Re: ARTICLE: When will TV games be announced?
I have an old friend who is now 85 who hasn't renewed this season. He'd stopped doing night games so that would have immediately reduced his home games to 18 before any more changes for TV. With all these games on TV, he'll probably see more than if he was going.Since62 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 11:53 amWith so many games on TV it will be interesting to see how that affects attendances - I know that not everyone has Sky and those with season tickets will presumably use them. Re: ARTICLE: When will TV games be announced?
I know I won't be coming up much next season. I'm 'only' 70 but the driving is becomming more tiring. Before lockdown, I regularly got the train from Bournemouth which cost around £80. Now, in order to get to Burnley on time, I'd have to drive to Southampton and then get the train and the cost is around £150! At least with so many games on TV next season it's better for long distance fans.

Another side to this is kick off times. On the first weekend only League Two games will kick off at 3:00pm. League one games kick off at 5:30, Rotherham away at Exeter and Lashers away at Crawley will be interesting in terms of visiting fan numbers.

Re: ARTICLE: When will TV games be announced?
It gets harder as you get older Paul. I found a couple of games last season really tiring and that was as a car passenger.Paulclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 12:13 pmI know I won't be coming up much next season. Re: ARTICLE: When will TV games be announced?

Re: ARTICLE: When will TV games be announced?
That’s a hell of a cost and commitment, fair play to you .Paulclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 12:13 pmI know I won't be coming up much next season. Re: ARTICLE: When will TV games be announced?
Nothing changed - when the deal was announced it said all games up to FA Cup 3rd round would be announced by the start of the season. What we have learned today is that all games up to end of September will be announced in the next week. Not sure how much quicker we can expect or would need.Wokingclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 1:37 pmI thought they were going to announce games up till Christmas much quicker than this

I think it will be worse in our next season in the championship. When people have actually seen how many live games we have with their own eyes.Since62 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 11:53 amWith so many games on TV it will be interesting to see how that affects attendances - I know that not everyone has Sky and those with season tickets will presumably use them. Re: ARTICLE: When will TV games be announced?
pulled off another forum.
the dates for the TV picks are as follows:
Up to the end of September - within 7 days of today.
Up to FA Cup third round day - by the start of the EFL season (FA Cup third round day is January 4)
Up to the first weekend in March - by November 1.
After that there will be a four-week minimum selection process.
The EFL and SKY have committed to "greater parity in the number of times that clubs are selected for TV coverage across all competitions"
All clubs will have more than 20 games broadcast (first and last weekends of the season, all international weeks (3 games), all midweek (8 games), Boxing Day, New Years Day, Good Friday and Easter Monday, Carabao Cup and BSM Trophy.
Each match weekend will look like this.
Thursday 7.45pm - One live match in either League One or League 2.
Friday 7.45pm - One live match from the Championship.
Saturday 12.30pm - one live match from the Championship - main channel.
Saturday 12.30pm/5.30pm - 2 x League One, 2x League Two games streamed on Sky Sports + (League One/Two likely to be in the 12.30 slot.)
Sky Sports + won't be a channel as such. Will be a TV-based app like Netflix. Sky and EFL have said it will be higher production value than the Red Button offering from last season.

Re: ARTICLE: When will TV games be announced?
That is a real slog on the train (even if all the journeys ran as planned). Shame we don't have any games vs Bournemouth or Southampton for you this seasonPaulclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 12:13 pmI know I won't be coming up much next season. I know from Premier League experience that it’s often not the broadcaster or the league holding things up but often a single club or even the police. With our local derby in this first batch then it’s maybe something like that.

Just seems bad that Sky have made all these big promises regarding TV announcements and they're going to fail on the first attempt..... Although I'll give them time because they havent yet, there is still time left todayClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 11:30 amThey are expected today but expected and happening might not be the same.

Re: ARTICLE: When will TV games be announced?
Sky will have done their bit, rest assured. It will be down to the league, the clubs and this involved in organising the games.clarets1978 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 11:55 amJust seems bad that Sky have made all these big promises regarding TV announcements and they're going to fail on the first attempt..... Feels like the final nail in the coffin of the game we used to know and love. I’ll get used to it I suppose but it is a 540 mile round trip for a home game and all the mucking about makes it so difficult to plan
