Any Carets in Nerja ?

Post by ALHAMBRA 1925 » Thu Aug 29, 2024 11:19 am

Am currently in Nerja and I've found a pub showing the game on Saturday ( owned by a Sheffield United fan).
The pub is called El Bosque and it's on Calle castilla Perez, ( 5 minutes walk from Balcony europa)..
Hope there's a few of us to cheer the Clarets.

Thanks for this. I'm in Nerja in a few weeks, so this might be useful then!

Oh I love Nerja, used to go there a lot, my ex inlaws had a couple of villas there, one on El Algerobo and one on El Capistrano. Fontaine Bleu (sp) Cafe was our fave food place. The caves with the prehistoric drawings are worth a visit.

New poster here boys so go easy on me. I know Nerja pretty well having visited the area on a regular basis for over 20 years. El Bosque(translates as the forest) is a cracking place for watching the footy. Brian is a genial mine host and runs a tight ship, always willing to engage in footy talk when he has the time. I was there for several hours on a Saturday last November. There is a very good takeaway just around the corner and Brian doesn’t mind people bringing food in, as long as you’re spending over the bar. Enjoy the game Saturday and let’s hope we’re all celebrating aClaret win come 2.30. UTC.

Only been a couple of times, lovely little place. Found a little tapas bar that looked summat and nowt, and it was absolutely lovely - best I’ve ever had.

Enjoy.

A great place to go on a Sunday, is the boatyard bar. Live music, cheap beer and good food.
It's hard to find, but off the long beach to the west of town. You walk through loads of boats on trailers.
There's a mixture of ex-pats, locals and the odd (ITK) holiday makers, (like UTC now).
Well worth a try.

Sounds perfect…. Wish I was there well out of it. I’m absolutely bricking it. Can’t get away from people wanting to talk about it…. Woke up at silly o clock this morning and started thinking about it straight away and I’m still doing it now. A skinful of Alhambra 1925 sounds just what i need to forget all this until it’s all over.

Some sad news for you, my mate who lives in Frigiliana texted me to say that Brian, who runs the El Bosque bar in Nerja has passed away.
Didn't know him well but he was a footy man, keen supporter of Sheff Utd, and was always very obliging and ready to talk footy if he had the time.
Very popular bar with the ex pats and Brian will be sadly missed.

I also have a mate who lives in Frigiliana half the year, I'll pass this on to him.

I saw the Everton 3-2 game there myself, great bar.

Sad news.

Managed a visit back end of last year. Ate in a restaurant called Occulto. Very nice place, if a little “goth”. Food was very good.

Great place is Nerja.

I know languages can be tricky, but what do you think 'Occulto' might mean?

It was exactly what I expected it to be. My explanation was for those who maybe didn’t.

Apparently died in November, according to a friend of mine who visits Nerja regularly
