Ticket Site Issues: RE Sheff Wed (a)
The ticket site is a total mess. 3 of my mates this morning have just wandered onto the site and bought 3 tickets each with no season ticket, not enough points and no memberships. There were no blocks whatsoever on who can get away tickets at all on the site this morning. This might have changed by now, but I thought I should post on here and let people know if they were holding out for a window later in the week to get them.
I'd try your luck at getting some asap.

Re: Ticket Site Issues: RE Sheff Wed (a)
Really! Why would someone with no membership number, ST or points try to purchase tickets?

Same for Hull at the moment. If you want a ticket, get on there.

Neither game will sell out.
Get em bought.
Get em bought.
Re: Ticket Site Issues: RE Sheff Wed (a)
I tried this morning and was scuppered by having 1990 points and my son only 1840. I've just gone on and bought them, god knows what they are playing at down there.

Appears that that when they pushed the sale date back they forgot to change the phased release dates.
Gone on sale a week later than planned which has opened it up to general sale by default.

Kind of devalues their 'Platinum' ticket membership schemes when you can just log on with a Clarets number and get any tickets you want.

I've just done a test using someone who has around 1,900 points and it wouldn't allow me to assign a ticket to him.

For games like these it won't really matter but with a small allocation you wouldn't be impressed if you're on 2 thousand points.

Rang the ticket office to ask about it and they said it was a 'site function error.'
Told me it was corrected about 11:40ish

Yeah, the loophole has been closed now. I wonder if they'll still send out the tickets.. probably will if they've been paid for.
Re: Ticket Site Issues: RE Sheff Wed (a)
From the TO regarding a couple of the issues highlighted this morning-
This is not a bug in the system, we are implementing age checks on all away ticket purchases, this is because a number of supporters have been purchasing tickets at incorrect age bands.
If supporters do not have a date of birth registered on the account it will not allow them to proceed, they need to contact us to update the details.

Surely the DOB should already be on there linked to when existing ST/Clarets number was obtained?Leisure wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 1:25 pmFrom the TO regarding a couple of the issues highlighted this morning-

This still doesn't answer why people who have not met the ticketing requirements were allowed to buy tickets this morning.Leisure wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 1:25 pmFrom the TO regarding a couple of the issues highlighted this morning-

My friend had 408 loyalty points, no season ticket and no membership on his account, yet was able to secure 3 tickets at 10:12 this morning.
Re: Ticket Site Issues: RE Sheff Wed (a)
Obviously a glitch in the system if he actually did buy the tickets but why would he try to get tickets when he knew that he didn't meet the criteria? Also, if he has no account how does he know that he has 408 Loyalty Points? Also, it's impossible to have a number of points ending in 8, it has to be a 0! Think he might be jesting with you!bfc-njr-2017 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 2:24 pmThis still doesn't answer why people who have not met the ticketing requirements were allowed to buy tickets this morning.

Re: Ticket Site Issues: RE Sheff Wed (a)
Surely the more sensible approach here would be for the club to contact those who don't have a date of birth registered rather than the other way round.Leisure wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 1:25 pmFrom the TO regarding a couple of the issues highlighted this morning-

I wasn't sure what the priority dates were for Hull, fortunately I went to the ticket site to have a look this morning. I was pleasantly surprised when it let me buy whatever ticket I wanted. It won't be many, but there'll be a few others who got lucky in that brief window too.Leisure wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 2:29 pmObviously a glitch in the system if he actually did buy the tickets but why would he try to get tickets when he knew that he didn't meet the criteria? So they've decided to check the date of birth of all season ticket holders. It was necessary to provide a dob when registering in the first place, which means they have lost the data.Leisure wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 1:25 pmFrom the TO regarding a couple of the issues highlighted this morning-

It's one thing being thoroughly incompetent, but something else when there is no one to contact to report this and get it corrected.
Re: Ticket Site Issues: RE Sheff Wed (a)
Total insanity.
I have a senior ticket at Burnley
Got one for Oxford
Now can’t get one online for Owls
Are they just winding us up or are they really so bad
More like Ticketdisaster than Master

The new phone system lets you queue for a while and then dumps you with a recorded message.
It's not acceptable.

Re: Ticket Site Issues: RE Sheff Wed (a)
Woman at work asked me about the loyalty points this morning, as her two family members have had exactly the same tickets for 5yrs home/away but had different loyalty points on account. I checked Sheff Wed, it allowed me to put them in the basket when I have a touch under 2000 which was weird - makes sense now
Re: Ticket Site Issues: RE Sheff Wed (a)
I rang up yesterday and was told to leave a message
They rang back and after being then put in a queue for half an hour they added my date of birth
Then back on line and got the senior ticket

Re: Ticket Site Issues: RE Sheff Wed (a)
I had the same issue as others regarding dates of births, so rang the ticket office.
What I was told is that tickets are assigned to our season ticket categories.
For example; my 14 year old has an under 18 season ticket and as Sheff W don't have an under 18 category he can only purchase an under 21 ticket and not an under 17.
When I questioned this I was told to call Sheffield W about it as "they set the rules" and I was being "rude" for querying why my 14 year old couldn't buy an under 17 ticket and it had to be under 21.
Even when I tried to match to U21 it still didn't work, so I called back and asked to update our DOBs and hey ho when I tried again it matched correctly, so my 14 year old can in fact purchase an under 17 ticket
How anyone could be so adamant about a point which is so blatantly wrong in reality is beyond me.

I’m going to be in the away end but due to these silly restrictions stopping me buying a kids ticket my wider family will probably go in the home end, easy for us due to living in Sheffield.
Fairly easy to see how that can end - the youngsters deciding it is far easier to get to Hillsborough on Saturdays just 2 miles away. Absolutely crackers way to run a business, driving away your customers. Kids born elsewhere have far less loyalty to Burnley than we do.

The age verification is all down to Sheffield Wednesday and not Burnley football club.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2024 12:16 pmI’m going to be in the away end but due to these silly restrictions stopping me buying a kids ticket my wider family will probably go in the home end, easy for us due to living in Sheffield.

A colleague who is a platinum member tried to purchase an adult ticket and an under 17 ticket but it would only let him purchase 2 adults as they are assigned to his 1 clarets number.
He held off the purchase and went for Hull tickets instead. Had absolutely no issue purchasing an adult and an under 22 with both assigned to his claret number. He then called the ticket office to sort the Sheffield Wednesday tickets and was sorted within 5 minutes.
The age verification is only in place for the Sheffield game at the request of Sheffield Wednesday.

Same. During that time there was the issue yesterday, anyone could buy tickets for any match, in any age category. At least I could anyway

Re: Ticket Site Issues: RE Sheff Wed (a)
Oh as well. He also said when he called for the Sheffield Wednesday tickets he complained that some people had been able to purchase when not eligible and the lady said they were looking into cancelling those transactions.
I don't know how that will work. Will they be informing the people who managed to get them that they will be cancelled, giving them the chance to purchase when eligible?

It looks like he purchased them after the glitch was sorted as it would not let him purchase the Wednesday tickets due to the age verification but he could with the Hull tickets.NottsClaret wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2024 1:07 pmSame. The issue he has is that with the platinum membership you can purchase 2 tickets and these are always assigned to his 1 clarets number. So when he selected the under 17 for his daughter, it wouldn't let him but it was all sorted on the phone call.
