I had the pleasure of an evening in the pub with him a few years back. Despite being confident that we'd be going down, he was exactly as you'd expect, a thoroughly good bloke. Good news indeed, his tweet shows what it means to him.

I knew him when he was at Valley Parade, he's a good guy but never had a very high opinion of us!
