Sheff United Game in Berlin

Post by colne-claret » Sat Apr 12, 2025 11:01 pm

Disastrously booked to go to Berlin over Easter and I’m missing the Sheff Utd game. Anyone know of any bars that show championship games? Cheers

At 1830 CET on Easter Monday we are the only game in Europe being played at that time. The Arsenal game is on the same channel later. I suspect any Irish Bar in Berlin will have it on. Never struggled to watch a Prem Game there. I’d phone up and ask before hand though.

Yeah I’d spotted not much else on so hoping it should be on. I’ve contacted one to see if they will likely be showing. Cheers pal.

Was there this week. Used Surf Shark VPN and NowTV in the browser.

Irish bar in the square behind the cathedral. Saw us beat spurs at home in there a few years ago. Good pint too

Sky Deutschland isn't the same as Sky in the UK. They have Premier League, but no championship games at all. You need a pub that has a dodgy laptop connection.

To answer the OP, I was in here in March, and they had Millwall v Stoke on.

It's just off the Friedrichstraße opposite the station.

Hi colne-claret, we're over there arrive Good Friday in time for Watford game. We watch Union Berlin a bit and so we are staying in Köpenick near Unions ground. Game is Saturday early evening v Stuttgart. We return very late Sunday evening so not there for Sheffield game.

I assume you're staying in centre of Berlin? We usually go to Belushi's just off Alexanderplatz. It's a big sports bar, plenty of screens and decent food. I'd be amazed if they don't have it on, sure they would put it on a screen if asked.

Yeah we’re staying near the main HBF so central. I know Alexanderplatz pretty well so will probs have a look at your recommendation. Gutted not to be able to get a game in this time. Not done union berlin before. Been to a Hertha game and went euro final last summer so union is on the list at some point.

Need to get in quick for Unions ground as we know it. They are there next season. Then they are using the Olympic Stadium whilst their ground is being redeveloped.

Stadion An Der Alten Försterei is a class ground. Very old school, similar capacity to Turf, 22,000, 3 sides all standing. New ground design looks amazing, again majority all standing. At minute it's very hard to get tickets, unless you know members. Think when new ground is up and running it will become one of top European football trip venues.

I was in there last night watching the Eintracht match. They had Newcastle v Manchester United on, and it was the UK Sky Sports, so chance they will have the Championship matches too.

For clarity, I meant Belushi's. It's on Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße.

Hi Chris, any chance you can be back in Berlin for Saturday. You seem to be Unions lucky charm in last few games 🙏

https://tante-kaethe-fussballkneipe.de/ is my usual football haunt when in Berlin - was there last year. - check the web page they usually detail the game a week ahead.
Have watched in the http://sportsbar-tor.de/, but it is usually rough and ready.
According to my colleagues, a good chance it will be on in some bars as there are no Bundesliga games Monday and I think there is only one premiership match on and apparently no big teams are involved.

Belushi’s shows Championship games, I watched the 3-0 against Blackburn in there on my 50th. Might have to ask for it specially though.
