Great pass, even better control and cross from Anthony.

Re: CJER's pass
Steve played an absolute peach of a diagonal pass to Edwards in the first half as well, we really are blessed with these two. Not taking away from CJ though who was exceptional today.

Re: CJER's pass
He’s made a lot of chances from them sort of balls but not done them often enough more recently, so was glad to see a few more today.

Re: CJER's pass
That goal was a thing of beauty.
The pass from CJER was wonderfully expansive.
The touch by JA was equisite and then his switch of feet took the defender out.
The cross was perfection.
The header was a dream delivery and an ideal finish. I loved it.

Re: CJER's pass
Dream of a pass, over that distance but Trafford gets the assist for me. Sadly not in the record book.

Re: CJER's pass
I can’t think of any previous Burnley wingers, over the last 30 years, who can control a ball driven over 50-60 yards like Anthony and Edwards.

Zaroury, and Wade Elliott come to mind. But take nothing away from the quality of Anthony's touch or indeed the quality of Egan Riley's pass.

Anthony’s touch was absolutely sublime. What a brilliant player he is.
Re: CJER's pass
Loved everything about this goal. As said above, the touch and first time cross from Anthony was incredible.

Re: CJER's pass
I'm thinking that it may be a serious contender for the goal of the season. I can't think of many better that originated from the back and was so well executed. Also given the context of the goal in how important it was at the time.

Zaroury is a decent shout, for the limited time we saw him. Not sure about Elliott though.claretspice wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 12:06 pmZaroury, and Wade Elliott come to mind. But take nothing away from the quality of Anthony's touch or indeed the quality of Egan Riley's pass.

Quality passer of the ball, seemed very annoyed at full time maybe with the performance as a whole shows good character need to get him signed up!

Re: CJER's pass
Can I just nip in with something here? Not wishing to take anything away from CJ - the ball was class, I’d just like to elaborate on what happened when the ball left his foot. Anthony’s close control was perfect. Absolutely amazing to watch, and we are blessed to have that level of skill out there. Same on the other side too…Edwards repeatedly brings long balls under his spell with a sublime first touch. Speaking as an ex defender if no particular skill level, someone doing that in front of you creates hesitation and gives the attacker an edge. Anthony’s delivery capped it off, and Flemmings is the man we want waiting for that ball. His heading is excellent.
Wonderful team goal. Amazing even. Loved it.

Re: CJER's pass
Everything about this goal was sheer class and has already been described earlier.
The one thing that started it off was Traff’s touch onto the post. Without that, it wouldn’t have happened and we’d have been two down.
A wonderful team goal from goalie to striker.

Not a winger as such, but Nathan Tella’s control of long balls over the top was sublime.helmclaret wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 11:34 amI can’t think of any previous Burnley wingers, over the last 30 years, who can control a ball driven over 50-60 yards like Anthony and Edwards.

Would be wonderful and so deserved if CJ or Steve could score the winner today

We saw Zaroury more than we’ve seen Anthony or Edwards….helmclaret wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 1:38 pmZaroury is a decent shout, for the limited time we saw him. Not sure about Elliott though.
Agree re Elliott. A brilliant footballer but not on the same level for first touch as those already on the conversation.
As mentioned above, Tella had great control too. He could kill any pass from any height or angle.
