Food count 03/05 vs Millwall

Welcome to the last food count of the season.

I don't believe in dead rubber counts so I have a scoring extravaganza for you with this 180g box of Tooty Fruity Bombay Mix

Provide you scores for the following items, and in this order please

Puffed rice pieces
"Noodle" pieces
Cashew pieces
Sultanas
Lentils
Green Peas
Red chick peas
Beige chick peas
Peanuts
Empty box weight
The price

Any piece that I can pick up without having to use tweezers will be classed as countable

Scoring system is slightly different. As there will be a huge amount of "noodle" pieces then 10 points for an exact guess isn't rewarding enough. Therefore, for the noodles only, 50 points to be awarded for an exact guess. If the closest is within +- 50 pieces of the exact total then 10 points awarded, otherwise 5 for the nearest answer.

For all other items the usual 10 points for an exact match and 5 for closest will apply

It's been a VERY long term plan. I first picked up a box of Bombay Mix about 7 weeks ago, with the intention of setting it aside for this count.

But that got quickly scoffed along with the 4 replacement boxes

So 6th time lucky counting this box

Sadly nobody achieved the golden 50 points for the noodles, or even got within +-50 pieces so no bonus points awarded

So the scores are:

30 points to Claretmisterg for being spot on with the puffed rice and sultanas scores, along with the closest guesses for the noodles and cashews pieces.

5 points to tally for being the closest guess for the price

We've definitely done every game for this season and 2023-24 because we've been doing the volunteers list so every game has been covered. I think we did every game for 3 or 4 seasons before that but Bosscat and Steve1956 ended up doing most of the counts because there wasn't always a volunteer.

As Cmg said ... a few seasons ago Steve1956 and myself ran counts because we couldn't get volunteers.

Its worked with some fun items from frozen fish to Bombay mix and from Beans to Wine gums ...

Congratulations to our points scorers :-
A big 15 points puts Zooniverser clear in second place on 216 points, this years runner up. Congratulations Zooniverser.
5 points is enough to lift Jasper64 into 3rd place on 205 points.
Also scoring 5 points puts Longsider on 191 points remaining in 5th place.
A late rally from yours truly scoring 30 points to move me up to 6th place with 183 points.
5 points for jdrobbo and Eloise Laws puts them on 171 and 157 points but slipping a place to 8th and 9th respectively due to yours truly moving up 4 places.
5 points puts claretblue on 95 points into clear 13th place.
Also scoring 5 puts tally on 98 points moving up one place to 14th.
Bosscat scores 5 to move onto 85 points but remains in 16th place.
Thanks again for a brilliant count Croydon. 3 points for counting puts you on a final score of 178 points but slipping down a place due to yours truly moving up the table (I've managed to mention that 3 times).

Thanks to everybody who took part in the final count which helped to inspire a fine attacking performance giving us 3 terrific goals and all 3 points from our intrepid heroes. So close to winning the title but a brilliant record breakibg season in the end.

Thanks to everybody who has taken part in the food counts this season. I hope you've all had fun guessing the contents of the various containers containing a wide variety of foods, snacks and condiment. I know I have.

Last, but not least, congratulations go to Dawlishclaret who takes the title of champion food counter 2024-25 with an absolutely unprecedented mammoth points total of 293. Well done Dawlish.

I will now hand over to Bosscat for presentation of the golden tin trophy.
