An East Lancs Derby next season?
Blackburn Rovers have been given 7 days to state whether they intend to “finance” their women’s team next season. If they fail to do so (which apparently looks likely), they’ll drop into the same division as Burnley next season. That’s assuming they don’t fold completely of course.

They should fold the men’s team instead seeing as the women’s team are now more successful.

We should be on the blower to the WSL and asking to take their place
Failing that, let’s have all their best players.

What is wrong here is we have one side being promoted not two, and yet the sides already up there can behave like this. In our league we have had really good women's sides winning the league and others missing out, mainly us, sides like Newcastle last year went up if I recall correctly.

Been on the cards for a while, a girl's just joined my daughter's team who'd been at Blackburn's girls academy. No funding for a while. Genuinely a shame for those women and girls affected.

Does this look like the act of billionaires to you, folks?
This is step one, of the end of Venky's horrendous reign at Blackburn Rovers.
Well done, Suhail and Steve. Bravo.

Re: An East Lancs Derby next season?
Awful decision by the Venkys. You get the sense they are starting to turn the taps off. Feel sorry for the players, many of whom might not have a choice but to drop two divisions. Hopefully we can “help out” by taking a few of their better players.
Will be interesting to see if they can field a men’s team next season with all the out of contract players.

The games at Ewood are averaging less than 1,000. I think they are getting the figures mixed up with the mens team

Re: An East Lancs Derby next season?
In 1913, extremist Suffragettes attempted to burn down Ewood Park's main stand, as a gesture against a symbol of a male dominated Society. I wonder if we may see history repeat itself ?

Re: An East Lancs Derby next season?
Afraid not. The bottom team, who should have been relegated (Sheffield Utd) will not now be relegated.
Re: An East Lancs Derby next season?
Blackburn have been placed in the league below Burnley.

Re: An East Lancs Derby next season?
Or are we only in league 3?
Re: An East Lancs Derby next season?
We're in League 3. Only 1 promotion spot up to league 2 makes it pretty difficult to get out of.

But Nott's is not.
Re: An East Lancs Derby next season?
Yep, I think it’s:
WSL
Championship
Northern Premier (Burnley)
Northern 1st Division (Blackburn)

As in Notts Forrest.
Which is how you should pronounce it, I think.
