It reads like they’ve done some of media deal with them to help promote the brand - maybe some exclusive behind the scenes footage etc.

burnley007, you missed a smiley off your post.
Just because you may not have seen the riots yourself. Sorry , let me take that back,. You obviously have seen the riots but have decided to believe a poster who has said there are no riots happening.
You can't just decide that a truth is actually a conspiracy theory, despite compelling evidence to the contrary.
Suppose you think that the Australian female reporter who was shot with a rubber bullet fired by LA's finest, was trick 'photography' or AI equivalent?

Re: Burnley “partner” with X
I presume 007 is pointing out that there is a lot of evidence that protesters are being manhandled. LA’s finest are enjoying playing with their new toy weapons, but very little evidence any of that any of it is remotely close to where looting is undoubtedly happening; looting manly due to all the police being massed all in one place for the cameras.Darnhill Claret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 13, 2025 12:41 amburnley007, you missed a smiley off your post.

Twitter nowhere near as popular as it was and growing with the new account has been very slow.

Re: Burnley “partner” with X
It would be a lot better than gambling companies but one does wonder if it is suitable for X to be on kids shirts now that the dangers of social media to children and teenagers are becoming more widespread to more people (though some still refuse to acknowledge it). I’d view it the same as the gambling firms and go for a DudePerfect kids version.
On the wider point I do find X increasingly annoying, particular how it plays a random video straight after my video finishes (a random one that is often totally unrelated and semi-pornographic). And the thousands of obvious bots originating from dodgy foreign states but pretending to be from here are a problem. But I find BlueSky an echo chamber and have chosen not to touch it.

Re: Burnley “partner” with X
I have a strange relationship with X. I shut down my longstanding account about a year ago, because I hated what it was becoming.
However I’ve still not found an alternative that provides the same comprehensive level of football news and views. I’ve tried Bluesky, but a lot of the X accounts I used to follow still aren’t on there (including BFC).
So now I find myself occasionally using an old business account I have access to, to look up accounts for news. I don’t use it anywhere near as much and never post, but its level of football coverage has never been replicated.

I think I largely avoid all of that. I only really look up the football journalists and organisations, so unless they are spewing out “fake news”, it still serves a purpose for me that I can’t find anywhere else.ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 13, 2025 2:01 pmI still use it, having had an account since 2009, but it's never needed more of a critical eye, and to question pretty much everything. I certainly never go on the “For You” page, look up trending topics or go down video rabbit holes - that’s where all the crazy **** is.
It feels like a bit of a necessary evil to me at the moment. I suspect there are a lot of people who feel the same.

I'd say anyone who values democracy, judicial independence, due process, and the rule of law has every right to oppose someone governing like a fascist / 'hating on Musk/Trump'.
Not to mention - they've done far more hating on one another than anyone else has done to them!!

It does seem a strange time to partner with Twitter. Although he has his fanboys, Musk is pretty toxic in the UK according to opinion polls (I think the latest was something like 15% favourable, 75% unfavourable).
Suspect the hope is publicity rather than direct cash.
Do the women's team still have a tie-up with Tiktok? That felt pretty similar to this.

I’d rather have Fun88 back.
Agree with the poster above, it’s fine for football but the amplification of the far-right and Musk dickriders combined with the frankly laughable amount of ads for crypto/AI/dropshipped garbage make the rest of it pretty much a cesspit.

Having a blast on there, have been for a year. Numbers aren't everything, and engagement isn't a thing that you can easily do - or rather force. If you say things people want to hear, then you will grow an audience. It will take time and if your goal is to become Internet famous, then it isn't the place to try.hoskinsgoalatswansea wrote: ↑Fri Jun 13, 2025 3:52 pmI follow UTC on bluesky, but there’s no account from Burnley official. If you want to force your opinions onto others, then good luck, because Bluesky is designed to prevent that from happening. The reason the clarets hashtag is much quieter than Twitter is because it isn't full of bot and spam accounts.
Given all the fascism, racism and contempt for lives, morals and finances that Musk and Trump have pulled, continue to pull and will continue to pull, then if true, I find the news of this tie-up incredibly disappointing.

X would be a wonderful shirt sponsor in my opinion.
No one would force you to use it or personally endorse all views espoused therein. The idea is raise revenue for the club.
