Accy Clarets coach booking details for 2025/26 season

For this season we'll be publicising trips and taking bookings for each game from the Friday before tickets go on sale on the following Monday.

All seats will need to be paid for online before bookings are confirmed. Seats will not be guaranteed until payment is received and the booking request has been ‘Liked’ on the messageboard. Requests for a booking must include the number of seats required (stating how many are adults and how many are U16), where you want to get on, your surname and your email address (once you’ve given your address you don’t need to do so for future bookings). I’ve added the email address requirement so that we can directly contact you if we need to send out messages about pickup time changes, behaviour issues etc.

For bookings made on the messageboard more than 7 days in advance of a game, payment must be made within 48 hours (if not made by then, the booking will be cancelled). For bookings made less than 7 days before a game, payment must be made within 24 hours (if not made by then, the booking will be cancelled). Bookings must be paid for in 1 payment.

Sounds like a logistical nightmare that Peter, however I'm sure most will agree it's a necessity given some of the messing around and late cancellations this season.

It seems a shame that you've had to put these measures in place Pete but I'm all for it as I realise how much work you & others put into putting coaches on to carry us Clarets to the away games, only for some to take the **** and cancel at the last minute or worse still not turn up on the day when their seat could've been filled.

Hopefully 2 people with the same name won't be booking the same number of seats, so their payment total will be different but if their payments are the same, we'll be able to email them to find out who made the payment.

There will be a surname in all likelihood that matches on the bank transfer so maybe a reference of username & game would keep it shorter.

The payment received on the Accy Clarets account showed my name and the 18 characters which I'd put in the payment reference box. So there'll be no need for people to put their surname, just their messageboard username and the name of whichever team we're traveling to.

I'm not being a pain I'm really trying to help so the system doesn't become too hard to manage. At times I have found putting a ref on the bank payment a little restrictive. Due to lack of characters available.

Some Football names are quite long and some user names are quite long. If you look at one of your responses from 'Wadeswondergoal' Should you think about using the username but leaving 2 digits for the game.

If it's the first game you specify using number 1 and so on, up to number 19 that way you are giving everyone as many characters for their user name.

You could actually tell people what numbers to use in your post regarding costs

I think I’d be looking at setting up on Online Payment Gateway. Fees are low now and you’d be able to collect a lot more info from people.

I really admire what you and your helpers (if any) do for the fans of the club. It must be an enormous amount of work over a season with lots of disappointments caused by unthinking individuals. I would absolutely love to be on some of your coaches but, given my age and my location at the other side of the world, it's never going to happen. Please accept this as my thanks for what you do for others.

Thanks for the suggestion. We were thinking that it would be possible for people to abbreviate their username if necessary and we would still be able to recognise them ie Wadeswondergoal could use Wwgoal but the use of game numbers, instead of the team name, could be an option. We'll see how it goes for the 2 friendlies.

The only reason I keep responding is I know you do a tremendous job and just a few have spoilt it for the few.

I also got the feeling you felt this type of system could cause you a number of issues.

So if you can find something that works at least no one can cause similar issues to last year

Hopefully this filters out all the dossers that book on with no intention of actually showing up! Or having the decency to communicate their intentions of not being to go.
