Hard to tell from the other end whether he should have given us a penalty but other than that he was ok today.

Much easier to give accurate ratings from live tv

Of course it’s easier. You get lots of replays for starters. But this is where the issue comes in… if you factor in ‘ball in play’ and replays over live footage, referees are usually only in shot, for a maximum of 5 or 6 minutes per match.
Having taken advice on the feature by a former football league official, he suggested that seeing the performance live was crucial in terms of awarding a judgement. Totally appreciate where you’re coming from but with the feature now 20 years old, it’d skew a lot of the data if parameters were changed.
