CFS - Ticket Exchange
CFS - Ticket Exchange
Has anyone ever had an answer as to why us season ticket holders in the CFS can’t sell tickets on the ticket exchange?
I phoned to ask the ticket office today, they said we just don’t do it for that stand and could give me a reason.
Surely if we could use this option it allows the club to have a better idea of who would be purchasing the tickets rather than them being flogged on X to a random!
I can’t attend 3 home games before Christmas due to various reasons, so thought this could’ve been an option for me, seen as we don’t even have a season card to pass on anymore.

Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
It’s a good question Jacko.
I wish I had the answer as I have a couple of mates in a similar position.
This is in my opinion something ISA and supporters groups should be banging on about.
Not sure how Burnley are getting away with it either. 3 sides of the ground can put tickets on the exchange yet those in the CFS can’t. Surely that’s some form of trade restriction.
There’s probably enough in legal parlance to take on the club, there are on or two on here with legal backgrounds who may offer a suggestion/solution.
Leisure and Claret Tony are usually good for knowledge on the ticket front.
I’ll try and keep bumping this up, in the hope you can get an answer.

Is there any chance you could find out why we don't get loyalty points for using QR codes for home league games as well Tony? Mine still haven't gone on for Sunderland. 95 points over the season.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Sep 03, 2025 10:57 pmI’ve made sure the ISA are aware of this. Great shout, let’s hope we can get some clarity.
I did wonder if the reason was financial as the tickets in the CFS would likely be cheaper on the resale and the club would rather see the more expensive seats in the bob lord, JH etc sold first.
I remember seeing posts on the previous CFS thread saying there was an option to have a season card printed, anybody managed to get this done or was it hearsay?

Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
I think it's basically so they can have more control over who sits in there. We all know away fans buy tickets in home ends. They manage to avoid this in the CFS by stopping resale.

Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
You can’t even forward tickets to friends and family with claret numbers either nor upgrade them.
It is two tier ticketing by BFC especially when you also know that it’s digital only in there, no more sharing your ticket if you can’t go on

Well it’s not my experience and I had it confirmed by the ticket office on the phone. I wanted to forward my ticket to my son, but the website wouldn’t allow it. I also tried to upgrade an U18 to an adult and that also failed. Called ticket office and they told me it wasn’t possibleArmchairDetective wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 8:59 amThat's not true Rick_Muller. For the CFS? I wonder why. If it's helpful to know my pal managed to forward a digital ticket I think from the website to a friend who could download to a digital wallet. But he basically got in using a digital pdf QR code in case downloading to the wallet caused any issues.Rick_Muller wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 9:01 amWell it’s not my experience and I had it confirmed by the ticket office on the phone. Are st’s in cfs not like rocking horse poo and rarely available to buy? Probably more to do with retaining more control on a stand shared with away fans.

Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
Surely its a security issue to stop away fans buying in that section
Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
I think it’ll be because it’s season ticket holders only in CFS, you can’t buy one off match tickets in there, we’ve tried previously when wanting to take a friend.
Got told it was for security reasons- it came in the season after it kicked off at the Arsenal game.
Whether the plod insisted or whether it’s our decision I don’t know but seems a bit ott and annoying for us when a friend visiting wants to come to a game.

Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
Its known to be the edgier stand, and as such certain restrictions aren't surprising are they?
Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
It is and it did get hairy at times with knobs piling past us (we are sat quite close to the divide) to goad away fans after we’d scored. But they did also make the no man’s land area between the two sets of fans a lot bigger which stopped them from actually being able to reach one another.ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 11:49 amIts known to be the edgier stand, and as such certain restrictions aren't surprising are they?
Just as I said it’s a bit annoying when you’re wanting to take family members etc who live away to the odd match and them not being able to sit in the same stand.
Maybe to stop scrotes buying tickets in there just looking to cause trouble they could just tweak it a bit that only ST holders could buy a match ticket in there (if any were available) with the warning that if any trouble did occur anyone identified will traced back to the ST holder that purchased the ticket and they will incur a punishment/ban as well.

Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
I enquired about this awhile ago.
The reason given was health and safety and that it was under review.
I was told there was no control over who bought them on ticket exchange whereas if I brought a friend and there was a trouble it was easier to identify the season ticket holder who had invited or given the season ticket card.
It's been like this ever since the Arsenal game a few seasons ago when their was some trouble. When ticket exchanges was brought in it wasn't allowed in the CFS and still isn't to this day.

Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
If the club have no control over who buys tickets on ticket exchange - that’s where the problem lies and should be an easy fix… for most clubs…

Do you mean the clubs ticket exchange, or an independent one?ScottishBorderClaret wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 4:42 pmI enquired about this awhile ago.

My understanding is if you put them on the club exchange they sell them with the same rules they sell any other ticket.
Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
Surely the club have control over who purchases tickets on the ticket exchange, or is it like ticket master where it’s open to anyone?
I still can’t see why CFS tickets can’t be forwarded to other clarets with clarets numbers, this way the club know who’s purchased them.
Has anyone in the CFS moved their ticket to another part of the ground and then had success transferring it?
This is just me being bitter because I can’t make the next 3 homes games and wanted to pass on the tickets.

Can you not give [sell] it to someone with a clarets account and transfer?
QR screenshot works but unless you trust someone with your season image for the season, doesn't seem worth the risk.

Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
You can do this. A friend couldn't make the Sunderland game due to work and so forwarded the ticket to myself to give to another friend who had come to Burnley for the weekend.
As long as the person you're forwarding the ticket to has a Clarets Number and is a member of your Friends & Family network you shouldn't have a problem.

Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
Ahh fair enough, it may have allowed us to do it as we're all in the CFS anyway, not sure. Though I agree it is ridiculous that us in the CFS can't put our tickets on the exchange nor can you buy tickets for one game. Last season in our old seats there were around 10+ seats empty all season in the rows around us, a friend came from abroad for the last game against Millwall but the club wouldn't sell me a ticket for it in one of the spare seats, extremely frustrating.

You can get a Season card if you request one from the ticket office.
"As your seat is located in the CFS (Barnfield Construction Stand), your access will remain digital by default. However, should you wish to obtain a physical season card, you are welcome to request one directly from the Ticket Office."

Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
Pretty much any stand where it is acknowledged the more rowdy elements will be based, is usually a little more basic, and often has restrictions. It's the same with most football stadiums around the world.

I found this article interesting - did anyone else know that digital tickets were mandatory for all Premier League clubs from next season onwards?

useful excerpt on exemptions though...

I guess this explains the push from the club to enforce digital tickets in the CFS this season, perhaps as a trial to go wider next year (providing we're still in the Prem that is). Just a simple communications would have covered that instead of the enforced change that had no apparent reason. Will I have to use a Digital ticket?
League rules will require clubs to ensure that Season Tickets and all Home and Away Match Tickets by default are made available as digital tickets. Clubs will retain some discretion to make some tickets available in other formats to supporters who have reasonable grounds to request them. This may include supporters who have a disability that makes the purchase or use of digital tickets challenging. Other examples include some group bookings, such as school or Club Community partners.
Clubs will consult with supporters’ representatives to develop suitable policies and exemptions.

Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
I think some of the problems are that users dont understand the "manage tickets" even though its been explained many times
If its working for most people, I'd suggest those having problems, dont know how the system works, or have it set up wrong, others are trying to forward tickets to people not entitled to them, but blame the system
The one thing they won't do, is when they realise its not a system fault, come back on here and apologise

Not quite sure what you are suggesting there. I am someone who has had problems with passing a ticket onto someone else in my F&F group and I can assure you that I know how (bad) the system works. The process just did not work for me, and I had it confirmed by the ticket office (via telephone) that I was unable to transfer them because I was in the CFS.Row x wrote: ↑Thu Sep 18, 2025 2:16 pmI think some of the problems are that users dont understand the "manage tickets" even though its been explained many times

I've followed the ones one the website, and some posts on here
I've done the following without a problem
Bought away tickets, when other say there's problems
Transfered my season ticket to someone else more than once
Posted on the ticket exchange more than once
Sold on the ticket exchange, more than once
Had more than one ticket in my wallet for away games
Used both card and digital tickets for entry
Been with someone, who has used somebody else's ticket in the cfs on numerous occasions.
I also attend the games with 20+ others, who have all done the above without issue, so why would I think anything other than the system is set up ok?

Hence calling the ticket office whereby they confirmed to me that "it is not possible to transfer tickets in the CFS". I spoke to 2 separate individuals on 2 separate occasions and they both told me this.
Now I am not suggesting that others who have managed this process are lying, and nor am I suggesting that you are wrong. I am reporting what I experience with the process, and I cannot transfer my ticket to anyone in my network, not one of them and nor can I transfer my sons U18 ticket for the upgrade process. So I can only conclude that the either the system is broken, or there is something wrong with my ticket(s) online - perhaps a flag against me because I'm clearly a hooligan or something... (I'm clearly not, but it makes me wonder!).
I must admit I took umbrage at your tone suggesting that I am at fault, when I can assure you that I really don't think that I am and if I am, I would happily come on here and apologise and also educate others on my findings without being condescending.
There is clearly something wrong, and as I have been told by the ticket office that I cannot transfer my ticket "because it is in the CFS" I have to take that as read don't I?
Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange

The system seems to work for the majority, otherwise they'd be 1000s of complaints.
I know somebody who is attending on Saturday with someone else's ticket in the cfs, something they have done many times ( its a shared ticket) I'll let you know if they have a problem

If its working for most people, I'd suggest those having problems, dont know how the system works, or have it set up wrong, others are trying to forward tickets to people not entitled to them, but blame the system
The one thing they won't do, is when they realise its not a system fault, come back on here and apologise

Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
NGL that isn't really condescending, more diagnostic

Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
Is that condescending, or trying to help people to see where they might be going wrong, which would assist them in future, based on mine, and others experience?
Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
Never heard of the option to have a shared ticket. Is it registered in both names? Do they have 2 membership numbers? What happens with awarding Loyalty Points?Row x wrote: ↑Thu Sep 18, 2025 3:50 pmWhere did I say you were at fault? Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
It's not an official option....people share a season ticket, its been going on for ages.
It's in one person's name, but because they can't go to every game, say night matches, or Sundays, or when they're on holidays, they share it with someone else, or several people..and it happens in the cfs....so somehow they manage to transfer the digital ticket because the one I'm aware of has been used by 2 different people already this season, and hopefully a third on saturday

Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
I'm in the CF stand and wanting to forward my ticket to someone as im off on holiday in the morning. I've accessed the ticket via the app and it says "your QR code will be available soon" when is soon, am I doing something wrong, or are the club just making it difficult for me to utilise use of the seat ive paid for?

You need to add the recipient to your Network, and then go via the Manage Tickets option and forward to said person from there.Barry_Chuckle wrote: ↑Thu Sep 18, 2025 4:37 pmI'm in the CF stand and wanting to forward my ticket to someone as im off on holiday in the morning. Re: CFS - Ticket Exchange
Sorted now.
Who'd have thought that you had to do it via the main website only, i was trying to do it via my tickets in the app, a place where you can't do it for some reason.
