He goes from bad to worse. His pronunciation of players' names was so bad today that it was like he wasn't even trying to get it right.
Ugochukwu himself should have a word. I wouldn't be happy if my name was pronounced as badly as that!
Embarrassing!

If only there was a video of the correct pronunciations and/or time between home games to practice.

I wonder if he gets it right on the Fifa/EA games he voices? I doubt they'd be happy with him calling Ugochukwu Ucoochycoochycoo like he does now and if they have told him what it is (as I presume he's recorded his bit..if he hasn't been binned off) then why does he still get it wrong on the Turf?

What do you mean? As in where he records it or as in content?

Has anyone considered that he might have asked Uguchuckwu and been told its pronounced that way?
Really don’t understand the grief this chap gets.

File this in the list of things that the club gets obviously wrong every week that would be so easy to fix that the only conclusion you can draw is that they don't care.
Would take 5 minutes to check the pronunciation for both teams when the team sheets are handed out. It's disrespectful and embarrassing.

It's as bad as people who say Tannoy when they mean "public address system". Tannoy is a brand name.

Try having an half time conversation about the game with your mates, only to be constantly shouted down by him.
He doesn't come up for air.

Have you ever considered that he is quite poor with his pronunciations of players names on a regular basis?
Even my 12 year old nephew asks ....." why does he always say the players names wrong?"......

The club literally released a video of the players pronouncing their names, so no that isn't the case.

I've said previously certain posters on here want to moan
Sometimes its justified, mostly its not.
I dont particularly like his style, but when he shouts come on Burnley, many respond, so as long as the club dont look on here, he's doing ok
To be honest the last thing I take any notice of at a game, is how good, or poor the announcer is. People on here raved about the Liverpool one, but to me he was so boring, so each to their own....but it doesn't need a thread after every game.

Do the announcements on tv telling what's on next, annoy you as much, even though you know what's coming on?

Not at all, but it makes the product a little bit less enjoyable.
If enough separate factors make the product a little bit less enjoyable then the product becomes a lot less enjoyable and people use one of the small things as the final straw and stop going. I'm not in that particular camp but I don't think it is unreasonable to have a moan on a BFC messageboard about an aspect of watching BFC, especially an aspect that is so very easy to fix.

It's just people on here it seems.
When he shouts let's hear it for Burnley, 99% of the crowd respond.
So most people like it, and it's working.
They won't change it for half a dozen on here who'd rather see a parade of whippets before a game

If 99% respond, it's not in a positive way. I doubt that would reach 0.99%.

To be fair, there's quiet a large cheer when he gives it the "let's hear it for burnley"....I've never heard any boos, I tend just to ignore it, but he only gets positive responses, whatever the percentage is

Hi fidel, last couple of years I've got to know a guy who was the announcer at West Ham. (We play walking football together). He tells the story of a game some years ago, while he was doing his pre-match prep, of a smartly dressed guy coming to the door of his "announcer's booth." West Ham were playing Watford. "Yes, what do you want?" "I just want to tell you how to pronounce ....." The guy at the door was the Watford player himself, just wanting to make sure at least one of the away stadium announcers pronounced his name as it should be pronounced.

It's as bad as people who say Tannoy when they mean "public address system". Tannoy is a brand name.
Yes Disgusting!
So incensed, I stopped Hoovering, washed my hands and dried them with the Dyson and came on to support.

Absolutely Tony. Most people around me in the Bob Lord, mutter “ Bell End “. Myself included. It’s getting more and more cringey with each match. Time they binned him off, and looked at something else. We all know “we are just moments away from kick off”- we can all tell the time. We also know “ it’s a big second half coming up for Burnley “. They all are. He’s a tool.
