1617 burnley kwasinkosi mpofu 00 600x400Youth team left back Kwasinkosi Mpofu has gone out on a month’s loan to Padiham, one of six signings they made at the end of last week.

He had a watching brief on Saturday when they beat Runcorn Town 4-0 but is expected to be involved this week with the next match on Saturday 20th January at AFC Darwen.

Mpofu is in the second year of his scholarship at Burnley having previously been with Everton. Last season he had to compete with Ali Koiki for the left back role but this season has played regularly in the youth team and was replaced by Matthew Rain in Saturday’s win against Bolton.

He is one of two youth team players currently out on loan; goalkeeper Marcel Wusiewicz is with Nelson and made his home debut two days ago in a 2-1 win against AFC Blackpool.
