Tom Heaton not included in the England squad

Roy Hodgson has named his England squad this morning for the two friendly internationals against Germany but there is no place for Tom Heaton amongst the goalkeepers with Southampton’s Fraser Forster regaining his place after the long term injury he suffered in our game at Southampton last season.

Tom has been in the last four England squads and was recently at the get together of players, but it looks as though he might miss out on the Euros now with Hodgson saying this morning that whilst there were no barriers, he’s now going with what he considers to be the strongest squad ofplayers currently available to him.

The full squad is:

Jack Butland (Stoke City)
Fraser Forster (Southampton)
Joe Hart (Manchester City)

Ryan Bertrand (Southampton)
Gary Cahill (Chelsea)
Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool)
Phil Jagielka (Everton)
Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur)
Chris Smalling (Manchester United)
