Since last week’s review there should be nine games to report on, but five of them, including our away game against Bury, were called off with the other four all ending in draws.

The first of those draws came last Friday when Blackpool took a point at Rochdale. It increased their lead at the top of the league to three points, albeit Walsall having a game in hand, but the Seasiders also have a much better goal difference.

Saturday should have seen six games played, but four of them, the others at Accrington, Carlisle and Preston, all fell victims to the weather. Only Port Vale of the higher placed teams were in action. They drew 1-1 at Shrewsbury to draw them level with second place Walsall although they have played two games more.

The second game played saw bottom team Wrexham earn a point in a 1-1 home draw against Wigan and they secured another point yesterday when they drew 2-2 at Tranmere. They are still four points adrift at the bottom despite those two draws having won only once in fifteen games.

The other midweek game between Rochdale and Walsall two days ago was another to be called off.

This weekend will see Burnley trying to do Blackpool, who have no game, a favour. We face Walsall at home and a win for the Saddlers will allow them to draw level at the top. I’m sure Burnley will be very keen to prevent that; they remain the last team to beat us when they won 3-0 on 1st October.

All the recent results (and postponements) are shown below. There are also this week’s fixtures, Burnley’s goalscorers this season and the current table.

The League Table is updated as results are confirmed. As is the case with our Fixtures and Results it can be found within U23/U18 Stats on the top menu.
