Goalkeeper Will Norris made his Burnley debut last weekend in the FA Cup win against MK and it couldn’t have gone much better for him.

He was beaten once by Cameron Jerome but a late equaliser scored by Matej Vydra took the game into extra time and then a penalty shoot out and that’s where Norris came into his own. With Vydra having failed with our first penalty we found ourselves 2-0 down at one point in the shoot out but Norris stepped up, made two good saves and Burnley were through.

Those two saves, along with a steady 120 minutes in goal, have won him both the man of the match and the player ratings on Up the Clarets.

In the man of the match vote he polled 37% with Robbie Brady, who has really returned to form since getting back into the side, coming second with 22% of the vote. As frustration grew at being 1-0 behind, Sean Dyche made a number of substitutions and it is no surprise to see two of those substitutes taking the next two places. Joel Mumbongo, making a debut on his 22nd birthday, caused MK some problems with his pace and he also got the assist on the goal. That’s earned him third place with 10% of the vote while Vydra came fourth with 7%.

Three of those four have taken places in the top four of the player ratings. Again Norris was the winner with a rating of 7.32, some way ahead of Brady who was again second with 6.64. This time Vydra came third with a rating of 6.62 while 6.53 out of 10 earned Anthony Glennon, who was making a home debut on the left of midfield, fourth place.

That’s given Norris ten points towards the Up the Clarets Player of the Year. Brady has six points and there are three points for Vydra, two for Mumbongo and one point for Glennon.

Those points haven’t made any changes at the top of the table with Nick Pope and Charlie Taylor still leading the way with 56 points while Brady has now moved into eighth place alongside Ashley Westwood with sixteen points.

The Manchester United VOTE is still open but will close at the end of the day which leaves you with a few hours to cast your vote. The West Ham vote will be underway soon after tomorrow’s final whistle.
