Wolves kicked off last week at the top of Division 2 in Premier League 2 but with no game they were always destined to lose their place with Norwich and Fulham, both just one point behind meeting last Friday.

The game was played at Craven Cottage with Norwich coming out on top with a 2-0 win courtesy of a goal in each half. Tyrese Omotoye opened the scoring with substitute Thomas Dickson-Peters getting the second some thirteen minutes from the end. It’s moved them two points clear of Wolves while Leeds, winners against Middlesbrough, have moved ahead of Fulham into third place.

The biggest win of the week came in the Tyne/Wear derby between Newcastle and Sunderland. In previous weeks we’d beaten Sunderland but lost to Newcastle. It was Sunderland who won this one to give them a crumb of comfort while their first team struggles two divisions below Newcastle. In this game Benjamin Mbunga-Kimpioka scored twice in a 4-0 win.

They were Sunderland’s first points of the season and have lifted them above us on goal difference. Stoke are also above us on goal difference and we are now only ahead of Crystal Palace who have just one point and they are our next opponents.

Spurs remain top of Division 1 having beaten Southampton last Saturday while Chelsea remain just a point behind them in second place. Everyone in this league now has a point. The one remaining team to get their first point was Manchester United but they drew 2-2 against Blackburn at Leyland. United were in front after just two minutes when Joe Hugill scored and the same player scored again four minutes from the end to grab a point after Blackburn had gone in front.

Again, like the under-18 leagues, there are no fixtures this week with the international break but we are back next week with the bottom two Burnley and Crystal Palace facing each other at Leyland next Friday.

The player featured this week is Bermudan Ne-Jai Tucker who has stepped up from the under-18s and has played in all three games this season.
