Josh Cullen has signed a new deal with Burnley that will keep him at Turf Moor until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Cullen signed for the Clarets last year from Anderlecht on a three-year deal and became a key player in our promotion back to the Premier League. During the season, he spent more minutes on the pitch than any other player and missed just three games, those the three successive home wins against Norwich, Reading and Rotherham when he was ruled out with injury.

He won our Up the Clarets Player of the Year, and he was also the club’s player of the year and players’ player of the year after his first season with us.

Despite missing games in pre-season through injury, he was fit for the opener against Manchester City with manager Vincent Kompany having no hesitation in including him in the starting line-up.

Cullen said after signing the new deal: ““I’m really happy to extend my time here, especially off the back of last year which was a really successful year for the Club. I can’t wait to continue my career with Burnley. It will be great to get back to Turf Moor this weekend and be in front of the fans again and hopefully get our first three points on the board.”

Such an important player for us, his new deal will now see that extra year which is further good news for those of us who support the club.
