He was expected to play today but when the team news was revealed there was no Nick Pope in the line up with the only change from Wednesday’s team seeing Jimmy Dunne start for the first time since the away game at Newcastle with Ben Mee having pulled out with what is believed to be a groin injury.

The news is not so good on Pope. Not only does he miss today’s game, a third in succession with Will Norris again deputising, but he’ll have minor surgery in the coming week on a knee problem with reports suggesting it will keep him out for four weeks and therefore rule him out of the Euros.

The team for today’s game at Sheffield United is: Will Norris, Matt Lowton, James Tarkowski, Jimmy Dunne, Charlie Taylor, Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson, Ashley Westwood, Jack Cork, Dwight McNeil, Chris Wood. Subs: Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Richard Nartey, Erik Pieters, Anthony Glennon, Ashley Barnes, Jay Rodriguez, Matěj Vydra, Lewis Richardson.
