Nick Pope was in outstanding form last week, making some terrific saves to ensure we picked up a point from a 0-0 draw in our home game against West Ham.

His performance saw him win both our man of the match vote and player ratings for the third time this season having done so previously in the League Cup defeat against Spurs and the draw at Chelsea.

He polled 57% of the man of the match vote with Charlie Taylor, who was a winner in the previous two games, coming second with a 21% share. Ben Mee, back after injury, was third with 10% while Jack Cork, who came in for Josh Brownhill, took fourth place with 4% of the vote.

The player rating result was similar. Pope was on top with a rating of 8.10 out of 10 and followed by Mee and Taylor who shared second place with a rating of 7.56. Fourth place this time went to Matt Lowton with a rating of 7.10 out of 10.

It’s given Pope ten points towards the Up the Clarets Player of the Year. Taylor won six points with five points for Mee and one point for both Cork and Lowton.

Taylor led the table ahead of this match with just two points more than Nathan Collins. He’s stretched that lead to eight points but things are so close behind with only nine points separating Collins from Pope who is in sixth place.

Following the postponement of Wednesday’s home game against Watford, we hope to be back in action tomorrow afternoon against Aston Villa. The vote will be underway as soon as possible after the final whistle.
