Posh defeat for under-21s
The under-21s have gone down to a 4-1 defeat at Peterborough this afternoon but it was a very young Burnley team who took to the field, presumably with some of them set to be in tonight’s first team squad.
A much more experienced Peterborough side were 1-0 up by the interval with a goal from Joel Randall but that lead was quickly doubled at the start of the second half Joe Taylor scored for the home side.
Up against it, we conceded a third with around seventeen minutes remaining, this one scored by David Ajiboye but we pulled one back when Michael Mellon scored on 81 minutes only for Hector Kyprianou to complete the scoring three minutes later.
The teams were;
