Nyon stadiumAs was the case last season, the first team squad will be flying out to a training came in Evian in France, on the border with Switzerland, and will play one game there on Friday 15th July against Swiss club FC Stade Nyonnais (Nyon) which will be played at their 7,200 capacity Stade de Colovray at 7:30 p.m. local time.

Nyon were formed in 1905 and played for several years in the second tier of Swiss football during which time, in 2001, they recorded their biggest ever attendance of 6,800 in a game against Real Madrid. They lost their place in the league four years ago when restructuring led to six of the ten team league being demoted to a new third league entitled the 1. Liga Promotion. This is now recognised as the third level of Swiss football behind the Raiffeisen Super League and the Challenge League. It is the same league in which last season’s first pre-season opponents Étoile Carouge play.

The squad will return home on the following day with the first friendly on home shores to be played on the following Tuesday at Morecambe.
