Premier League Cup night for the under-23s
The under-23s are in Premier League Cup action tonight with a home game against Sheffield Unioted and it’s a game we really need to win should we wish to progress in the competition.
Michael Mellon, Ne-Jai Tucker and Max Thompson all scored in a comprehensive 3-0 win against the Blades back in October at Chesterfield to kick off our group games but we’ve since been beaten by Peterborough and Everton which has left us bottom of our four team group.
Everton lead the group with nine points from five games, followed by Peterborough who have seven points from four games. Sheffield United’s four points from four games keeps them just a point ahead of us although we’ve only played three of our games.
The current Group Tables show Derby, Fulham, West Ham and Wolves are all through to the knock out stages.
