The Premier League have confirmed that all games will be suspended up to and including 3rd April and for Burnley that means the away game at Manchester City and the home game against Watford are postponed. The hope is to restart on 4th April when Burnley visit Crystal Palace.

The League initially announced yesterday that all this weekend’s games would go ahead but then, later in the day, revealed that there would be an emergency meeting this morning following the news that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta had tested positive for COVID-19 which brought the subsequent postponement of Saturday’s Brighton v Arsenal fixture.

Richard Masters, the chief executive of the Premier League said: “Above all, we wish Mikel Arteta and Callum Hudson-Odoi speedy recoveries, and everyone else affected by COVID-19. In this unprecedented situation, we are working closely with our clubs, Government, The FA and EFL and can reassure everyone the health and welfare of players, staff and supporters are our priority.”

The Premier League’s aim to reschedule the displaced fixtures, including those played by Academy sides, when it is safe to do so.
