Leicester where we won our first away point

Last week we asked which three clubs you thought were the most likely to be relegated from the Premier League last month and you sent both Sheffield United and Luton Town back down and this week you have decided that both Leicester City and Southampton will make an immediate return.

The vote has been running since Tuesday and the three relegated clubs from last season have been placed in the top four. Leicester will go up according to the result. They polled 22% ahead of Middlesbrough who were second with 16%. Middlesbrough, of course, looked set to threaten Sheffield United for second place for a time last season but faded away at the end with just two wins in their final eight games before losing their play-off semi-final against Coventry.

Leicester and Middlesbrough to go up and the choice for the third promotion place has gone to Southampton who secured 13% of the vote, just beating Leeds who were fourth.

Sunderland were the next team with 9% and they were followed by Norwich, Ipswich and Coventry with Watford and West Brom just behind them.

That means, in the 2024/25 season, we can expect to play against Leicester, Middlesbrough and Southampton in the Premier League.
