Burnley’s FA Cup 5th round tie tomorrow will be refereed by Graham Scott from Oxfordshire who was last at Turf Moor as 2016 was brought to an end with a 4-1 win against Sunderland.

He didn’t have the best of games that day but one good decision certainly led to Burnley going 2-0 after when he played an excellent advantage as Papy Djilobodji tried to pull back Andre Gray. Scott saw Gray getting away from his man and waved him on to go past goalkeeper Vito Mannone and score his and our second goal.

It was about a par performance from Scott whose RATE THE REF rating went down slightly to 61.95 out of 100 and he retains 14th place in the 18 referee table.

Probably his worst Burnley performance was the Coventry game in 2011/12 and at Bournemouth two seasons later he amazingly allowed a couple of very bad challenges from home players to go unpunished.

He has, however, in recent years, cut down on the cards. This season he’s given out 69 yellow cards and three red cards in twenty games. Of those yellows, 27 have gone to home team players and 42 to away team players. There’s been one red card since he last refereed us; he dismissed Huddersfield’s Jack Payne in a 2-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday five weeks ago.

His last game was two weeks ago, the Premier League clash between Southampton and West Ham at St. Mary’s which West Ham won 3-1. The only players carded were West Ham’s Winston Reid and Aaron Cresswell.

Hopefully we’ll see a good game from him tomorrow.

The assistant referees are Simon Bennett (Staffordshire) and Jake Collin (Merseyside). The fourth official is Football League referee Peter Bankes (Merseyside) who last refereed Burnley in the 0-0 home draw against Ipswich last season. Both Bennett and Bankes were on similar duty at our recent FA Cup 3rd round replay against Sunderland whilst Collin was one of the assistants last time Scott refereed us.
