The under-23s were held to a 0-0 draw at Stoke tonight and although it took the run of games without defeat in Premier League 2 to five, it’s a result that has made it that little more difficult to make the play-offs.

This result has confirmed that Wolves will be in those play-offs with only Norwich and Stoke now able to get above them. Those two are favourites to join Wolves with Nottingham Forest now looking the more likely to claim the last place.

We play again in three days time against Aston Villa. If we win that it will leave us needing a result at champions Fulham to make those top positions.

The teams were;

Stoke: Tommy Simkin, Demeaco Duhaney, Tom Sparrow, David Okagbue, Matthew Baker, Ibrahima Sy, Will Goodwin, Patrick Jarrett, Emre Tezgel, Tashan Oakley-Boothe, Jack Griffiths. Subs not used: Robbie Hemfrey, Tom Curl, Logan Laird, Sam Knowles, Nathan Lowe.

Burnley: Sam Waller, Finlay Armstrong, Dan Sassi, Richard Nartey, Owen Dodgson, Max Thompson, Mark Helm, Ben Woods, Ne-Jai Tucker, Anthony Gomez Mancini (Sam Unwin 81), Joe McGlynn. Subs not used: Lukas Jensen, Joel Connolly, Jake Rooney, Benn Ward.
