Burnley FC Supporters Groups have, this morning, issued the following statement following the reported incident at our game v Tottenham Hotspur three days ago.

 

STATEMENT

Burnley FC Supporters Groups have become aware of an incident during our game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, 7th December that led to one of our supporters, a 13-year-old, being ejected following an alleged racist gesture towards Tottenham player Son Heung-min.

Both clubs and Lancashire Police are supporting the investigation by the Metropolitan Police and our club are to contact the supporter ejected with a view to him attending an enforced educational programme, run in conjunction with Kick It Out.

Burnley FC Supporters Groups has a commitment to eradicate discrimination in football and to promote equality, inclusion and diversity, is fully supportive of Burnley Football Club’s zero tolerance policy towards any kind of discrimination and will support the club and Kick It Out in respect to this or any other incident of a similar nature.
