1516 burnley kevin long 00 630x420Kevin Long has extended his loan with League One club Barnsley by a further ten days having initially joined them in November.

It’s fair to say he had an up and down start. He scored a late winner on his debut at Oldham but was then sent off in his next game against Peterborough leading to him serving a three match ban.

Two days before Christmas, the loan was extended until 20th January and today that’s been extended further and the central defender will now remain with Barnsley until the 30th.

He’s played seven games for them, of which six have been in the league. They have won four of those league games and have propelled themselves up the table to 17th in the table with a four point advantage over the relegation places.

Barnsley boss Lee Johnson said this morning: “Kevin has been great to have around and has been a solid addition to our group. We’re really pleased he’ll be sticking around for the next three games at least.”
