Ten new scholars for the Clarets
Burnley confirmed just over two weeks ago that seven of our second year scholars had failed to get new deals and would be leaving us at the end of the season.
As one group leaves, another arrives and there will be ten new scholars next season to join the eight current scholars who will be moving into their second year. This group will predominantly make up the squad that features in the Youth Alliance League next season.
Some of these players have already played in the youth team this season and they include two goalkeepers, five defenders, two midfielders and one forward.
The goalkeepers are Adam Bruce and Marcel Wusiewicz and the defenders are James Clarke, Leighton Egan, Kwasinkosi Mpofu, Scott Wilson and Oliver Younger. Midfielder Tristan Jumeau has been on the scoresheet recently in the youth team and he will boost next season’s midfield as will Samuel Layton whilst Dwight McNeil is added to the strike force.
All but one of these players has come through the junior teams with eight of them from the North West.
The new players have now been added to the Squad List on Up the Clarets.Share this page :
