1516 burnley sam vokes 00 630x420Earlier this afternoon, Burnley captain Tom Heaton was confirmed as a member of the England squad for the Euros in France which start next month. Now comes news that striker Sam Vokes will be joining him after Chris Coleman named his 23 for Wales ahead of the tournament.

Two years ago, Sam was facing a battle after suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury against Leicester. He was on crutches for the end of season promotion celebrations and missed a large part of the Premier League season that followed. But he’s back, he’s scored 15 league goals including the promotion clincher against QPR and the first against Charlton on the day we won the title.

Very much back in the Welsh squad, he’s now been named in Coleman’s squad and has become the second Burnley player to ensure his place in this summer’s finals.
