Burnley have introduced thirteen new players who will start two year scholarships as part of Tony Philliskirk’s under-18 squad.

A year ago, goalkeeper Charlie Casper was the only player to come through from the under-16s but this year is much different with eleven of the thirteen having been part of our academy.

Some of them have already featured in the under-18s; others not, and the introductions start with goalkeepers Lewis Forshaw and Jon Ander Vilar Robinson. Although we’ve seen Robinson on the bench, neither have made an appearance as yet at under-18 level.

Joining them are defenders Joe Ashton, Jack Bates and Sonny Pickup, midfielders Joe Bauress and Jack Rogers, son of former Nottingham Forest defender Alan Rogers, winger Lucas Wane and three strikers Dylan Sime, Ryan Tioffo and Rohan Vaughan, the latter being the younger brother of full back Ethan Vaughan who was part of last season’s under-23 squad.

The two new arrivals are defender Oliver Sweeney who has spent the last nine years at Wolves and Callum West, who was previously reported; he has signed from Macclesfield.
