Thomas added to international calls
With eight Burnley players called up for full internationals and one, Conor Mitchell, at under-21 level, I don’t think we were expecting any more to be recognised internationally this week.
That’s not the case. Today Jamie Thomas has been named in the Wales under-21 squad who will play Armenia in Yereven next Tuesday 11th October. He wasn’t in the original squad named at the end of last week but has been called up to add to the squad.
Thomas joined the Clarets’ development squad in the summer having been released by Bolton Wanderers, signing a two year contract with the option for another year in the club’s favour.
But he went to Ayr United on loan for the first half of the season and he’s made seven appearances for them, the most recent coming as a substitute in a 2-0 defeat at Falkirk a week last Saturday.
And so, Thomas takes the number of Burnley players on international duty into double figures which I’m sure must be a club record.Share this page :
