Central defender Bobby Thomas has today gone out on loan to League One club Bristol Rovers for the remainder of the season.

Thomas has made just one first team appearance for the Clarets, lining up alongside Jimmy Dunne in the centre of defence for our League Cup third round tie against Millwall at the Den two seasons ago. He impressed too but his only first team action since came in a loan at League Two Barrow later that season, making 21 appearances and scoring one goal, the opener in a 2-0 win at Forest Green.

In his early days at Burnley he enjoyed a loan at Kendal and really seemed to step up his game on his return, making himself a regular in the under-23s.

He’ll now join former Claret Joey Barton at the Memorial Stadium and will be available for their home game against Morecambe this Saturday.
