long hendrick waltersMartin O’Neill has named three Burnley players in his provisional Republic of Ireland squad for a friendly against Celtic and friendly internationals against France and the United States.

Kevin Long and Jeff Hendrick are both in the squad as is Jon Walters, but there is no place for Stephen Ward who has won 49 caps for his country. Robbie Brady also misses out on the games as he continues his rehabilitation from the injury he sustained at Leicester in December.

Some of the players will drop out of the squad after the Celtic game at Celtic Park on Sunday 20th May. Those who will remain will then be in the squad for the games against France at Stade de France on Monday 28th May and the US which will be at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Saturday 2nd June.
