1819 burnley george mcmahon 01 500x500Two of our younger goalkeepers have this week gone out on loan to gain some experience of first team football.

Youth team goalkeeper Kai Calderbank-Park was in the Padiham team three days ago that was beaten 3-0 in a North West Counties Premier League game against Northwich Victoria. He’s one of a number of youth team players who have been involved with local non-league clubs this season and the second, following on from striker Michael Fowler, who has played for Padiham.

Presumably, like the others, this is a work experience loan which would allow him to play for us should he not be required by Padiham.

Today, George McMahon has moved out to Ashton United on loan. The Republic of Ireland under-19 international was signed from Rotherham in the summer but has probably not had as much game time as he might have liked at under-23 level.

McMahon (pictured) has signed for Ashton until the end of the season and goes straight into their squad for the home game tomorrow against FC United of Manchester in the National League North with both sides in the bottom three.
