Burnley have allowed two academy goalkeepers to go out on loan to non-league clubs, one until October and one for an even shorter period.

Under-21 goalkeeper Sam Waller spent some time with Lancaster City last season and we’ve come to their aid again by loaning out scholar Lewis Forshaw until 20th August. Lancaster’s first choice goalkeeper Andre Mendes was sent off at the end of last season playing on loan for Ashton United and will therefore serve a three match ban as their season starts.

Second year scholar Forshaw has already played for the Dolly Blues in pre-season; he lined up for them in a 2-2 draw against Holker Old Boys eleven days ago.

Meanwhile, Harry Moss (pictured), a third year scholar, has made the shorter trip to Padiham until 18th October. Like Forshaw at Lancaster, he’s already donned the gloves for Padiham. He was with them for a period last season on loan and has been in their team for the two games last Saturday at Skelmersdale and again last night for their first home game of the season against Litherland REMYCA, in both games playing alongside former Claret Ben Hoskin.

He’s made a good start too, conceding just one goal in the two games with Padiham winning 3-1 at Skelmersdale and drawing 0-0 last night against Litherland although to keep that clean sheet he did have to watch a last minute penalty sail over the bar.

We wish both of them well during their loans.
