The last couple of weeks in Premier League 2 have seen our under-23s climb off the bottom drop back down and now, with our latest win against Reading, we’ve moved up five places to eighth.

Despite a good result recently at Norwich, we soon found ourselves back on the bottom with Fulham winning at Aston Villa later on the same day. Winning at Stoke a week last Monday took us up a place again only for Newcastle to beat the same opposition four days later and go above us. But finally, in the tightest of leagues, we’ve got off that bottom rung again with last Monday’s win against Reading and it’s lifted us five places with Stoke now bottom of the league.

Leeds, who came up from Category 2 with us and Crystal Palace, lead the way with 19 points and that’s three points ahead of second place Middlesbrough. Incredibly, we are now just two points behind second place despite knowing that defeat last Monday would have still seen is in last place.

One thing is for certain, we won’t be moving any further up the table in 2020. We don’t play again until the home game against leaders Leeds on 11th January next year but we could drop down with six fixtures still to be played this year in Division 2.

Liverpool were top of Division 1 at the time of our last review but they were beaten 2-1 at home by Blackburn and now seen four teams move ahead of them with Chelsea now top of the league courtesy of two home wins against Leicester and Tottenham.

The player featured this week is goalkeeper Lukas Jensen who is now in his third season with the Clarets.
