Earlier in the season, we led Everton 2-0 at Leyland in the U18 Premier League but it all changed when Matty Carson was sent off midway through the second half allowing Everton to come back and win it 3-2 with the winner coming deep into stoppage time.

Today at Finch Farm, in our final game of 2020, we’ve turned the tables on the established Category 1 club with a 1-0 victory which came via a goal as early as the 19th minute from Joe Smyth-Ferguson (pictured). Today’s game even saw Everton end it with ten players when Reece Welch was dismissed ten minutes from half time.

The result gives us our fourth victory in this league since stepping up. We won at Stoke in September while in October we won at Sunderland and beat Leeds at home with today’s result ending a run of three games without a win.

The Burnley team was: Sam Waller, Joel Connolly (Will Couch 70), Matthew Carson, Jake Rooney, Finlay Armstrong, Kade Ratchford, Dylan Moonan, Ben Woods, Calen Gallagher-Allison, Joe Smyth-Ferguson (Corey Brennan 72), Sam Unwin (Ruairi Behan 86). Subs not used: Charlie Casper, Jacob Hamilton.
