Tomorrow morning our under-18s will play the second of three games in the U18 Premier League Cup Group G.

Both teams go into the game having won their first games four weeks ago; we beat Everton 3-1 at home while Arsenal were winning 2-1 at West Ham.

I think it is fair to say this is going to be a tough game for us against a team currently unbeaten this season. While we sit ninth in the north group of the U18 Premier League with two wins, one draw and three defeats, Arsenal are unbeaten in the south and sit second having won four and drawn two of their six games.

With us being in different leagues, it’s some time since we played each other but for a look back I’ve gone to the FA Youth Cup tie against us, played at Accrington in the 2007/08 season, a game that led to one of the Arsenal players making a loan move to Burnley soon afterwards.

We were beaten 5-1 but actually went 1-0 up through an Adam Kay penalty. Arsenal were soon level with a goal from man of the match Henri Lansbury and then quickly in front when Mark Randall scored. Kieran Gibbs got the third Arsenal goal with Lansbury netting the last two to complete his hat trick.

Tomorrow’s game kicks off at 11 a.m.
